A woman who says she has been married to Dennis Davis, accused in a 1985 murder, since shortly after they met in 1991 wants to invoke her spousal privilege to avoid testifying at the former Austin recording studio owner's trial next month.

As a Deputy Prosecutor (Washington state) who used to practice family law, looks as if a consultation with one of your state's top family law gurus would be in order. States that recognize cohabitation relationships may extend only a limited package of marital-type privileges and rights to non-married cohabiters.
